“Thinking is good, but doing is also important.”

At China Bridge, Sissi Ren has moved up the ranks from college intern to partner in just several years.  Today, she has major responsibilities with both China Bridge and Successful Design Awards-China.  2013 is a transition of her career and her life.In addition to her many duties at the office, Sissi and her husband are expecting their first baby in September.

What made you join China Bridge full time?

As an intern, I was involved in important projects which was very lucky for me.  I wanted to learn more. One year wasn’t long enough to learn about design research.  And in China Bridge, every project was different and interesting, which taught me how to use design thinking to help the clients. It was very different from university.

What’s the big challenge from intern to partner?

You have to think about the whole picture of the company.  I now think about how to make China Bridge a great company, not how to promote China Bridge as a great company.

What’s the best thing about China Bridge?

Here we always have new challenges and room to improve. You are always around new concepts and new ideas.  It is always different. Everyone on the staff has strengths and we learn from each other. And we have a lot of chances to meet with thought leaders of the industry which is super exciting.

Work and life?

We have a lot of activities at China Bridge.  We hold internal workshops to inspire and share knowledge with each other. We also hold family days a lot. One of my favorites is when we have cooking workshops.  We make pizza, dumpling, and share them.  We see each other like a family, not just co-workers.  We like to spend time together after work.  This makes working fun.

I am too young to have these big titles, but I’ll try my best.
