CBi Design Award given for first time at Tongji ceremony

A young designer at the College of Design and Innovation at Tongji University has won the institution's first CBi Design Award.
Cen Yulu was presented the award by CBi managing partner Rudy Wimmer at the college's graduation show on May 20 for her Leisure Chair for Older People design.
As well as a certificate, CBi gave Cen a cash prize, plus a VIP invite to October's China's Most Successful Design Awards ceremony, where she will be given an honorable mention by this year's world-respected jurors. She will also have the opportunity to meet leaders in design from China and across the world, as well as see the year's best design work.
“Cen Yulu's design kept its target users' needs and tastes at heart,” said Rudy. “Understanding users' needs and desires, and using this understanding to inform successful design, is at the heart of what CBi does, which is why Cen's work really stood out for us.”
