CBi  headed to Hong Kong this spring at the invitation of one of the world's leading design schools, where it shared its experience and knowledge with the 1,200-strong student body.

Cathy Huang, the founder and president of CBi, visited the Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design between April 12-17 to meet some of China's most promising young designers and gave them the benefit of CBi's insights into best design practice. She also took the opportunity to view the innovative work produced by the faculty, which was rated among the top three design schools in the country.

The school's Chair Professor of Industrial Design, Martin Smith, took the opportunity to discuss with Cathy how the school and CBi might collaborate on future projects.

“There were lots of exciting ideas being produced by the students at the school,” said Cathy. “I really enjoyed meeting them in person and contributing to their development into the cutting-edge designers of tomorrow.”

Founded in the 1960s, the school is the only institution in Hong Kong that offers higher level design education. Its alumni can be found at the forefront of a range of fields across the design spectrum and beyond, and include world-renowned fashion designer Vivienne Tam; Raman Hui, Oscar-winner and Supervising Animator for the movie Shrek; Dennis Chan, founder of the jewellery brand Qeelin; Freeman Lau, Partner of Kan & Lau Design Consultants; Siu Hak, illustrator; and Alice Mak, the creator of McMug and McDull.
