Where are the great ideas from? Gifted minds, professional team, or rich recourse?

We always find that staffs consisting of very few people can create millions in  commercial value. The reason is that they are good at “crowd sourcing”, something that is applicable in innovation industry.

On December 16th CBi China Bridge, working with the French Counsulate, invited Professor Jean-Fabrice Lebraty from University Lyon, France, and gave a speech on the topic of “crowd sourcing” as the newest business model for business leaders and innovative minds.

Crowd sourcing was proposed by Jeff Howe in 2006. It represents the act of a company or institution taking a function once performed by employees and outsourcing it to an undefined (and generally large) network of people in the form of an open call. Problems can be solved by converging brainstorming and the wisdom of the crowd. Practice proved that the productivity and potential of a crowd are infinite. Before that, most new products and corporate innovation came from within. They would hire a lot of researchers to conduct research. But now they just need to put their challenge and needs on the InnoCentive website and provide some bonus or incentive. Then millions of professionals will be willing to contribute their time and efforts to help solve their problems. Now, crowd sourcing is widely used in various industries and is becoming a trend of changing economy and trade.

During the speech, professor Lebraty also introduced some innovative examples of the application of this business model, which inspired the audience and trigged them to think about the innovative industry in China. As the leader of China innovation power, CBi China Bridge is committed to establishing a platform to share creative thinking models and providing a new way of thinking and development direction.
