General-Planner for the Shanghai World Expo visited CBi China Bridge
The eminent Professor Wu Zhiqiang visited CBi China Bridge on 31st January, 2012. His various responsibilities include Vice President of Tongji University, Dean of the College of Design and Innovation at Tongji University, and General-Planner for Shanghai World Expo.
Professor Wu highly valued the achievement and dedication contributed by CBi China Bridge in the design industry and had an interesting conversation with our design team. Both sides agreed on speaking further about cooperation opportunities in the near future.
Prof. Wu proposed the “H-city” (harmony city) scheme as the guideline for the planning and design at all levels to illustrate the Expo’s “Better City, Better Life” theme.
Prof. Wu is also Co-Chair of the International Steering Committee of World Planning Schools Congress (WPSC), permanent member of the UNESCO-UIA World Architectural Education Council, and former President of the Asia Planning schools Association (APSA) from 2003-2007.
His research interests include the urban spatial development strategy study for Shanghai, foreign investment in the Chinese building and construction industry, developing environmental assessment systems for the Chinese building industry, and sustainable development.
Prof. Wu has been project manager for a range of planning processes in China such as: Shangyang development strategy plan; Zhengzhou tourism strategy plan; Sunqiao modern agriculture zone plan; and the Yili city urban design plan. He also has been involved in more than 30 design projects which are under construction or completed.
